- Description
- A tapered pillar on a stepped base set in a Remembrance Garden (IWM 60968). The pillar is constructed of black Chinese marble panels on a stainless steel armature and is surmounted by a wrought iron decoration and stainless steel cross. The three stepped base has a black marble kerb infilled with steps of local bricks. Each face of the pillar bears an emblem at the head comprising the badge of the armed forces set within a wreath and a dove of peace. The gilded inscription is incised in upright capital block lettering above the names which are in two columns and are also in gilt lettering.
