- Description
- Rough hewn three stepped stone block surmounted by smooth stone base, tapering shaft and celtic cross. Dedicatory inscription and names on two irregular shaped tablets, one for WW1 and one for WW2, placed either side of the base. Celtic knotwork design carved in relief on the front face of the cross and shaft. When the memorial was originally unveiled the WW1 tablet was mounted on the front face of the stepped base but when the WW2 tablet was added it was removed and placed to the side.

Comments: Col E K Perkins, Deputy Lord Lietenant of Hampshire and a local resident, undertook to erect a memorial when the memorial committee failed to come to an agreement on what form of memorial to erect due to cost and other considerations.
