- Description
- Bronze brazier beacon surmounting a tapering plinth built of Cornish granite blocks bearing a carved dedication, and the whole set on a stepped base. Laurel wreath and cup design on top and an entry door on the 12 o'clock face. The Beacon is lit four times a year :- 25 September - Beginning of the Battle of Loos; 24 October - United Nations Day; Remembrance Sunday; 11 November - Armistice Day. See also our reference 63329 for the accompanying Roll of Honour Book, and 76445 for a copy of the pages of that book on an oak stand which was broken up in 2010.
