  • The Scotsman - Wednesday 18 August 1920 www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000540/19200818/065/0010 KILMARTIN WAR MEMORIAL In presence of a large assemblage; a war memorial, (which takes the form of an archway of granite over the churchyard gate) was unveiled at Kilmartin (Argyllshire) by Major-General N. Malcolm, C. B., D. S. O. The service in church was conducted by Rev. Dr M'Lean, D. S. O., Paisley Abbey. A guard of honour of over 100 ex-service men and ex-Volunteers, under command of Lieut. J. G. Mathieson, M. C., took part in the proceedings, which were of an impressive nature.
