Description
Plain, rectangular inscription tablet flanked by two black stone pilasters which support a broken necked convex pediment. The family coat of arms is placed at the top centre. Gold embellishments at sides and base and incised inscription in red lettering.

In loving memory/ of/......./ Also in memory of/ ROBERT EUSTACE ABEL SMITH/ their youngest son/ Captain, Grenadier Guards/ Aged 31. Killed in action in/ Flanders during the retreat/ to Dunkirk on 21st May 1940.
