Description
Pine tree set in a field. Framed dedicatory inscription with two photographs is placed in the church.
Inscription
A Special Tree/ Grown from a seed cone brought back/ from the war graves cemetery at/ Minturno, Italy, in 1994 by John Pepper/ of Binbrook, Lincolnshire./ Grown from seed by John, and planted/ to the east of St Martins church, in the/ year 2000 AD, this tree is now 1.25/ metres in height. The church Parish/ Council and the residents of Kirmond-/ Le-Mire are proud to have this special/ tree in their churchyard./ The tree will be a tribute and a reminder/ to all those who gave their lives in the/ great wars, that we may live in peace./ We will remember them.
