ROUGH HEWN THREE STEPPED BASE SURMOUNTED BY SQUARE PLINTH AND OBELISK. INSCRIPTION ON A GRANITE TABLET SET INTO THE FRONT FACE OF THE PLINTH. WHOLE STANDS WITHIN A LANDSCAPED, WALLED AND RAILED ENCLOSURE The referenced detailed Roll of Honour web-page shows that this memorial could best be described as covering Sons of Dalwhinnie, as men covered came from as far as Ledbury (Herefordshire), Uppingham (Rutland), Ayr, Newtonmore, Fort William, and Muir of Ord

TO THE EVERLASTING MEMORY OF/ THE OFFICERS, NON-COMMISSIONED/ OFFICERS AND MEN FROM DALWHINNIE/ WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE/ IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914 - 1919./ (Names)/ ALSO THE WORLD WAR, 1939 - 1945/ (Names). The fact that there are 14 names for WW1 for a village of a few dozen houses shows that this memorial covers a wider rural hinterland than just the village.
