- Description
- Kilted highland soldier in tam o' shanter with rifle raised 'at the ready', standing on rough hewn stone plinth. Plinth bears names on inset tablets. all mounted on rough hewn stone tapering base. Note that the contemporary image shows the memorial once had railings, presumably removed in the WW2 scrap metal drive. Note also that all attached images are now out of date following the restoration work of June 2018. War Memorials Online has a series of images taking the story forward in stages from 2012 to immediately before restoration.

- History
- In 2017-18, a Centenary Memorials Restoration Fund award through War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £6,680 for conservation and repair works. The memorial had a number of either cracked or open constructions joints and the inscription was difficult to read as the paint finish deteriorated. The grant funding has assisted in re-pointing the memorial with a lime mortar as well as undertaking cleaning and re-painting the incised inscriptions in white to match the original- work completed 17-24 June 2018
