IN REMEMBRANCE/of John Ashton Esq of the 3rd Regt of Guards who in his 20th/ year died the death of the Brave in the Battle of Waterloo/ 1815/ Ashton lamented in that field of Fame/ Where Britain's dying sons endear'd their name;/ Accept thy Country's praise, thy Mother's tears,/ Whose heavenly sorrow heaven itself reveres, Kifsing in agony afflictions rod/ She yields her pride unmurmuring to her God.
