- Description
- The St Marys Twickenam Church Magazine describes: The St Martins Church was opened 30 September 1914. At that time the Germans were over running Northern France and it was decided to name the church St Martins Church. On Armistice Day (St Martins Day) 1918 the magazine reported that '.. we of this part of Twickenham shall have our House of God tied up with the memory of our Glorious Dead who, by their sacrifice, saved us'. St Martins Chapel of All Hallows Church commemorates the former mission church.
