History
2015: Memorial underwent some restoration by the borough council and the cathedral held a service and rededicated as part of the regeneration and building of the Cathedral Quarter in Blackburn. As this was done a lot of names were found and reinscribed to make them clearer as well restoring some of the Memorial. This is located at the East end of the Cathedral now. Cross of Sacrifice was reinstated. 2009: Approximately 20 of the 200 names are legible, the rest have been badly eroded. Peg holes indicate location of the missing cross of sacrifice. 'Semi-dome' missing from top of cross. c1981: St Michael and All Angels Church was demolished and the obelisk moved to the grounds of Blackburn Cathedral.
