History
2007: The church was declared redundant in November 2006 and the Diocese's Redundant Churches Uses Committee has been seeking a new use for the church since then. There is a possibility that the memorials may need to be removed from the church once a new use is found. We will be given the new location if this happens. 2013: St Albans demolished and the site used for houses.

In dedicating this war memorial on Thursday evening, Archdeacon Southwell mentioned that 10,000 men of Sussex gave their lives the fight for right and freedom, spoke of our country's greatness in the war, and emphasised the importance that we should not fail in peace to reap what our dead had died to gain.
