Description
The airfield memorial consists of three rough hewn granite stones. The centre stone bears an incised inscription directly onto the smoothed front face, whilst the stones either side have a plaque engraving of a Handley Page Hampden (left stone) & a Dakota aircraft (right stone). Unveiled 2 September 2007 - ceremony involved a Dakota flypast. Adjacent to the memorial is an associated interpretation board with further information of the airfield's role during the Second World War.
