Ornate white marble tablet with decorative ogee-shaped top, carved pillars on left and right edges and carved impressions of two medals - (left) Kabul, (right) Sutlej.

SACRED/ TO THE MEMORY OF/ GEORGE ALFRED CROLY/ (ELDEST SON OF/ THE REVEREND GEORGE CROLY L.L.D/ RECTOR OF THIS PARISH)/ LIEUTENANT IN THE 26TH REGIMENT/ OF THE BENGAL LIGHT INFANTRY/ WHO/ AFTER GALLANTLY DOING HIS DUTY/ IN THE VICTORIOUS CAMPAIGN OF CABUL/ A.D.1842/ FELL GLORIOUSLY BY A CANNON SHOT/ IN THE BATTLE OF FEROZESHUSHUR, IN THE ASSAULT ON/ THE ENTRENCHED CAMP OF THE SIKHS,/ DECEMBER 21ST A.D. 1845,/ AT THE AGE OF TWENTY-THREE/ ALL OF HIM THAT WAS MORTAL/ RESTS IN BURIAL GROUND/ OF FERZEPORE./ IN TESTIMONY/ OF HONOUR AND ESTEEM/ THIS MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ERECTED BY THE OFFICERS/ OF HIS REGIMENT
