Purpose: Unknown or N/A - Reference
- The Times 2 September 1954 page 8 column d Obituary of Lady MacRobert. Her eldest son was killed in a flying accident in 1938 and the other two while flying during WW2. In 1941 she gave the Air Ministry £25,000 for the purchase of a Stirling bomber to be named 'MacRobert's Reply.' In 1942 she gave a further £20,000 for four fighters in memory of her sons. In 1943 she gave Alastrean House, Aberdeenshire to the RAF as a leave centre for RAF officers. It burned down in 1952.
