Description
Large nowy-headed bronze WW1 plaque, with the Fife County Police crest at top-centre, beneath which is the inscription in raised lettering; also an associated oak table that bears an inscription.   • Dundee Courier 29/12/1926 (page 3) reported at length the unveiling of the Fife County Constabulary WW1 Memorial, in an article which began: "SCOTTISH SECRETARY AT CUPAR Unveils memorial to men of FIFE CONSTABULARY Who Fell in the War. The memorial to the twelve men of the Fifeshire Constabulary who gave their lives in the Great War was unveiled and dedicated yesterday at Cupar at an impressive ceremony. The memorial, which has been placed in the Rest Room of the new police quarters at the rear of the County Buildings, consists of a handsome bronze tablet containing the names of the fallen, and an oak table with the carved inscription "Their name liveth for evermore." Over the names (John W. Campbell, David Dawson, Archibald Henderson, Jas. Johnston, Daniel Martin, Duncan M'Intyre, Alexander Nicol, James D. Spence, Thomas Shearer, John T. Whyte, William L.
