- Edinburgh Evening News - Friday 22 June 1923 www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000452/19230622/186/0009 STIRLING WAR MEMORIAL CEREMONIES. The Stirling war memorial has been completed by the addition of two large bronze ptates containing names of those who fell. The plates have been afflxed to the sides of the pillar, and names number 692. Yesterday afternoon the plates were unveiled by Mrs M'Culloch. wife of Provost M'Culloch, and Provost M'Culloch laid a beautiful wreath an the memorial Following the ceremony at the memorial, the carved oak shrine, enclosing the “Book of Remembrance," which contains the names of the fallen, was dedicated in the Public Library which overlooks tbs memorial.
