- Condition
- History
- Before it was presented to the National Army Museum, the maquette was damaged during removal from Ludlow Town Hall c. 1988. It was later cut into pieces for transport prior to being donated to the Museum in 1990 by South Shropshire District Council. By this time the armature was rusted and the plaster was broken into many pieces. As a result, the exhibit was deemed beyond repair and the head of horse removed before the rest was consigned for disposal, following agreement from the Museum’s Council in March 2005. The head was transferred back to Ludlow Council in August 2005.
