Description
Original description: Two-step tiered wooden board. Intertwined IHS. The top additional section WW2 board is linked/flanked by panels shaped like ships' bows or anchors. Gilt lettering shadowed in parts, some lettering in red. (Letters after names indicate where men served: F-France, P-Palestine, D-Died while serving, S.Salonica, G- Gallipoli, M Mesopotamia, A-on Seas). The memorials now displayed at St Mark's church, Saltney are different and may have been re-arranged. The WW1 board comprises 3 joined panels: the central panel has the commemoration and the names of the fallen; the outer panels list those who served. The memorial is framed in wide, dark, contoured wood and has the words Roll of Service at the top and a biblical phrase along the bottom. The WW2 board is a separate, framed, rectangular board listing only the fallen.
