- Description
- The cross is constructed from 2 pieces of seasoned oak, deeply carved with bas relief decorations in the early english style at either end of the horizontal arms and at the top of the vertical. Above the horizontal, the regimental badge of the Green Howards is carved in bas relief whilst the principal inscription is carved onto the horizontal arms with the subsidiary inscription carved on the vertical immediately below.

- The cross was broken 30yrs ago and has been inexpertly repaired using a copper plate on the front and an aluminium plate on the rear, both attached by cross - headed screws.
