- Rectangular tablet in dark stone, with incised lettering in a 17th century typeface.
- Inscription
- In memorie of ANTHONY BURLEIGH,/ third sonne of JOHN BURLEIGH, late of/ the Isle of Wight, Esq. who was/ Leiftenant generall to KING CHARLES/ the first of blessed memorie and was put/ to death at Winchester, the 26th of January/ 1647, for endeavouring to release his Sacred Majesty, then prisoner in/ Carisbroke castle, in the said Isle of/ Wight his two elder Brothers were slaine at Worcester fight in the forces/ of his present Majesty KING CHARLES/ the Second this being the last of that/ Loyall family except his truly/ Loving and Sorrowfull Sister who/ caused this Monument to be erected./ Obiit 17° die Feb. Anno Dni./ 1681, AEtatis suæ 48/ spe resurgendi.
