- Description
- Book of Remembrance, divided into sections relating to the different geographical areas/theatres of combat in which members of the Royal Military Police have died since 1/1/1946; their names and details are recorded in the relevant section. Above the case in which the Book is displayed is an associated dedicatory brass plaque mounted on a wooden backboard. (N.B. As the Book of Remembrance is an ongoing record of commemoration, the names and relevant details of Military Police casualties are added to it as and when the need sadly arises. For this reason, the geographical sections into which the Book is divided have blank pages after the last recorded entry. At the time that the images held by IWM were taken, i.e. c2010, the latest entry in the Book related to Lance Corporal M.D. Pritchard, killed in Afghanistan on 20/12/2009, and the total number of casualties listed was 71).
