- Wall-mounted rectangular brass plaque, fixed to a wooden board. The plaque has a decorative border, with a cross patee in each corner. An incised red painted cross is at top-centre, beneath which the incised inscription is in Roman capitals.

- "Lest We Forget: The First World War Memorials of Uttlesford District", published by Recorders of Uttlesford History, 2014; ISBN 978-1-873669-14-3; pages 88 and 89 have details of this memorial and some biographical details of the casualties named upon it. (Among those details are those of Colonel William Raymond Inglis, Lord of the manor of Rickling, and Commander of the 33rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers, who died on 30/3/1916, aged 53. He was buried in Rickling Churchyard, where his headstone reads: "SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF/ COLONEL W. RAYMOND INGLIS/ OF RICKLING HALL AND THE LEE, ESSEX/ AND DRUIMUAN, KILLIKRANKIE/ WHO DIED FROM OVERSTRAIN OF WORK ON THE DAY/ OF HIS DEPARTURE FOR ACTIVE SERVICE IN FRANCE/ MARCH 30TH 1916 AGED 53 YEARS/ LOYAL TO HIS KING, HIS COMRADES AND HIS GOD").
