- Wall mounted marble tablet on slate support tablet. The tablet has a pointed head in which is a moulded image of the badge of the Rifle Brigade. The left and right hand edges of the tablet are curved into scrolls.

- IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ RIFLEMAN JOHN CARTER,/ 2ND RIFLE BRIGADE,/ THE ONLY SON OF/ H. & E. A. CARTER,/ WHO PASSED AWAY JUNE 29TH 1919,/ IN HIS 20TH YEAR./ AFTER PRIVATIONS ENDURED AS PRISONER OF WAR/ APRIL TO NOV. 1918./ "PEACE, PERFECT PEACE."
