- Description
- Wall mounted, landscape oriented tablet with an upper moulded edge. Incised inscription infilled with black paint. Immediately above the tablet, in relief, is a shield bearing a cross and motto below, all surrounded by four draped flags.

- IN MEMORY OF / FREDERIC GEORGE AINSLIE, C.B. / LIEUT. COLONEL OF THE 21ST R.N.B. FUSILEERS / YOUNGER SON OF THE LATE LIEUT. GENERAL AINSLIE, / AND HIS WIFE SOPHIA CHARLOTTE NEVILLE, / WHO DIED NOVEMBER 14TH 1854, AGED 44, / OF A WOUND RECEIVED WHILST IN COMMAND OF HIS REGIMENT / AT THE BATTLE OF INKERMANN, / NOVEMBER 5TH 1854. / HE WAS A GOOD MAN, A PERFECT GENTLEMEN, AND A GALLANT SOLDIER. / "ONLY BY CHRIST COMETH SALVATION." / THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED BY HIS MOTHER, / AND THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF HIS FAMILY.
