- Bronze plaque with bas relief at top of two angels supporting a shield, depicting a pelican, surmounted by a coronet. The plaque is mounted on a Verde Antico marble surround. In 2009 an additional brass addendum plaque was added below for 2 further casualties who had been identified. The meaning of 'this parish' is that the memorial covers the communities of Newbattle, Newtongrange, Easthouses, Lothian Bridge, Eskbank and Dalkeith.
