Description
TWO THIRDS OF THE OBELISK IS A FOUR SIDED MONUMENT. THE TOP THIRD IS A SCULPTURED PIECE FEATURING A SHORT LENGTH OF FLUTED COLUMN ON A STEPPED BASE WITH DECORATIVE ELEMENTS. AT THE TOP IS AN ELECTRIC LIGHT REPRESENTING A FLAME OF REMEMBRANCE. CONTEMPORARY ACCOUNTS ALSO DESCRIBE A MEMORIAL GARDEN AROUND THE MONUMENT. FLEURY CROSS ON BASE. PATERA IN EACH CORNER OF MAIN FACE AND SQUARE WAVE PATTERN ABOVE. SMALL LATIN CROSS AGAINST FAN BACKGROUND ABOVE INSCRIPTION PANEL.
