- Description
- The complete Memorial for WW1 comprises the sandstone cross in the churchyard, a new clock on the church tower, and a new set of clock chimes. The cross is a wheeled sandstone cross with carved crossing on a square battered plinth carrying the incised inscriptions. The WW1 commemoration is on the 6 'o'clock face, and the WW2 commemoration has been added to the 9 o'clock face of the plinth. A stone flower holder has been placed at the foot of the front face of the cross. The clock has a single face on the South side of the tower. The numerals are Roman. The chimes are within the tower. The relationship of the elements of the Great War Memorial are described as part of a display of the church's timeline installed along the North wall of the church.
