- Wiltshire Times and Trowbridge Advertiser 6/5/1950 (page 9) reported the unveiling of the plaque beneath the entrance arch of the Headquarters at Devizes. The unveiling ceremony, which was attended by relatives of the fallen, Lady Llewellyn and representatives of all the ranks, was followed by a memorial service at St John's Church. www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0001671/19500506/193/0009
- The former Constabulary HQ in Bath Road was replaced by the new one in London Road, which opened in 1964; the memorial was therefore moved at that time. (www.wshc.eu/blog/tag/Wiltshire Police Control Room.html ).
