- LANCET HEADED WHITE MARBLE TABLET WITH CARVED INSCRIPTION IN BLACK PAINTED LETTERING. LATIN CROSS WITH FOLIAGE AND FLOWERS AROUND IT IS CARVED IN RELIEF AT THE TOP OF THE TABLET.

- IHS/ Sacred to the memory of/Lieutenant George Chamberlain Hocin,/7th Gurkha Rifles, aged 23 years/killed in action at Ctesiphon, Mesopotamia/Nov. 23rd 1915, whilst adjutant 2nd Battn.,/only son of John Williams Hockin,/and Caroline Elizabeth, his wife/formerly of Vavitri, Malabar, India,/and now of Castle Street, Launceston, Cornwall./ And to the memory of/Lieut. John Trevene Hockin/25TH Australian Battn., aged 33 years,/ killed in action at Poziers, France,/July 29th 1916, only son of the late/ George Trevene Hockin M.R.C.S.,/of Gwithian, Southport, Queensland./Both were grandsons of John Hockin 3rd son/of the Revd. W. Hockin, Rector of Phillack, 1809 - 53/That we might live Ye died./Hail! And ever fare ye well!/"But this we know, dear lads all's well/with the men who have done their best,/they are sacred high in our memory,/and to God we leave the rest."
