Description
Roll of Honour painted on wood, in a glazed wooden frame. It has two parts. The top layer is painted to resemble a temple of green marble with rounded pillars surmounted by carved capitals etc but has been cut away so that names appear between the pillars. At the top are scenes of battle, with a zeppelin and planes flying overhead, a battleship at sea on the left and a land battle being fought on the right. In the architrave of the temple is an angel bearing a laurel wreath. At bottom left and right are flags, in front of these, at the base of the outer pillars is left a soldier and right a sailor both resting on reversed arms. The name of the club is below the angel. At the tops of the columns of names are floriate scrolls bearing the word "Honour" above the outer columns and "Roll of Honour" above the central panel. The names are listed in a single column in the outer panels, with the names of those who died at the foot of each panel under the heading "In Memoriam" which is in black shadowed in white. The names in the central column are listed in two columns. All lettering is hand written using calligraphy with the initials being done in a variety of colours
