- WHITE MARBLE INSCRIPTION TABLET SURMOUNTED BY CORNICE AND TAPERED WHITE MARBLE TABLET. WHOLE IS MOUNTED ONTO A DARK MARBLE BACKBOARD. INSCRIPTION IN BLACK LETTERING. CARVED IN LOW RELIEF ON THE UPPER SECTION OF THE TABLET IS A PLINTH SURMOUNTED BY AN URN WITH TWO FURLED FLAGS BEHIND IT AT THE BASE OF THE BACKBOARD IS THE FAMILY CREST IN WHITE MARBLE

- THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED IN MEMORY OF/ MAJOR JOSEPH BRADBY,/ OF THE 28TH REGIMENT OF FOOT,/ WHO DIED/ ON THE 24TH AUGUST 1813, AT VITTORIA IN SPAIN,/ OF THE WOUNDS HE RECEIVED/ IN THE BATTLE OF THE PYRENEES,/ THUS TERMINATING A BRILLIANT CAREER/ OF FIFTEEN YEARS IN ACTUAL SERVICE./ HE WAS SINCERELY REGRETTED/ BY HIS RELATIVES AND BROTHER OFFICERS,/ TO WHOM HE WAS ENDEARED BY AFFECTION/ AND URBANITY OF MANNERS./ HIS REMAINS WERE INTERRED AT VITTORIA,/ WITH MILITARY HONOURS.
