PLAIN RECTANGULAR WHITE STONE TABLET SET WITHIN A STONE FRAME. ADDITIONAL TABLET ATTACHED TO THE BASE OF THE TABLET GIVING DETAILS OF ITS MOVE.

MAIN TABLET: TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF/ 21 OFFICERS/ 9 WARRANT OFFICERS/ AND/ 347 NON-COMMISSIONED OFFCERS/ AND MEN OF THE/ ARMY SERVICE CORPS/ WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN SOUTH AFRICA/ DURING THE WAR OF 1899-1902./ DEDICATED BY THEIR COMRADES AT WOOLWICH LOWER TABLET: THIS TABLET WAS ORIGINALLY ERECTED/ IN THE ROYAL GARRISON CHURCH OF ST GEORGE'S, WOOLWICH,/ AND WAS REMOVED TO ITS PRESENT SITE FOLLOWING THE/ DESTRUCTION OF THAT CHURCH BY ENEMY ACTION IN JULY 1944.
