RECTANGULAR BRASS PLAQUE MOUNTED ONTO A BLACK STONE BACKBOARD. INCISED INSCRIPTION. THISTLES INCISED ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT HAND SIDES OF THE PLAQUE REGIMETNAL BADGE WIHIN A WREATH INCISED IN THE TOP HALF OF THE PLAQUE.

ALSO OF/ CAPT G. R. S. BOWLBY/ WHO DIED FROM WOUNDS RECEIVED FROM A LEOPARD; AND/ CAPT AND PAYMASTER J. MICHELL ELLIOTT/ WHO WAS TREACHEROUSLY MURDERED BY THE BOERS/ ALSO OF/ CAPT C.N.
