THEY WERE STATIONED/ IN ALDERSHOT FROM THAT DATE UNTIL/ THE OUTBREAK OF THE GREAT WAR IN 1914/ AND AGAIN FROM 1919 UNTIL/ THE OUTBREAK OF THE WORLD WAR IN 1939/ THESE GATES/ WHICH ARE ERECTED IN THEIR HONOUR/ WER EUNVEILED BY/ FIELD-MARSHAL THE EARL ALEXANDER OF TUNIS/ K.G., K.C.B., G.C.M.G, G.S.I., D.S.O., M.C./ ON/ 29TH.
