- Rectangular tablet with a blue stone border. Badge of the Royal Field Artillery in the upper left corner and the RAF in the upper right hand corner

- IN VERY LOVING MEMORY/ OF LIEUT. GEORGE WILLIAM EDENDALE WHITEHEAD,/ YOUNGER SON OF SIR GEORGE AND LADY WHITEHEAD OF WILMINGTON HALL/ BORN AUGUST 27TH 1895/ HE SERVED IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM WITH THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY TAKING HIS PART/ IN THE BATTLE OF LOOS 1915, THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME 1916 AND OTHER ENGAGEMENTS/ SUBSEQUNTLY HE JOINED THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AND WAS WITH HIS OBSERVER/ KILLED IN ACTION ON OCTOBER 17TH 1918/ "ONE OF THE HEROES WHO FELL IN DELIVERING THE TOWN OF LAUWE NEAR MENIN" WHERE HE IS BURIED AND WHERE A STREET HAS BEEN NAMED AFTER HIM. / "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE"/ ECCLES XLIV. 14/ SUBSEQUENTLY RE-INTERRED IN/ HARLEBEKE NEW BRITISH CEMETERY NEAR COURTRAI.
