Description
Wall mounted, framed and panelled, polished wooden backboard containing three engraved polished plaques. The two larger portrait orientated plaques with dual-lined borders, are situated above a linear plaque bearing a biblical inscription, enclosed by a single-line border. Stylised leaves hide screw holes in each of the four corners of the upper plaques and at ends of lower plaque.

Left plaque : + / IN LOVING MEMORY OF / JOHN EDWARD MARSHALL / CAPTAIN D.C.L.I. / 2ND SON OF CANON MARSHALL M.A. / VICAR OF THIS PARISH / KILLED IN ACTION / AT KEMMEL IN BELGIUM, / ON MARCH 30TH 1915, / AGED 33 YEARS / "GREATER LOVE HATH / NO MAN THAN THIS." Right plaque : + / IN LOVING MEMORY OF / EVELYN SAFFREY MARSHALL / CAPTAIN, R:WAR:R: / 6TH SON OF CANON MARSHALL M.A. / MORTALLY WOUNDED / AT FALAHIYEH IN MESOPOTAMIA / ON APRIL 5TH 1916, / AGED 29 YEARS. / "HE, BEING MADE PERFECT IN A SHORT TIME, / FULFILLED A LONG TIME: / FOR HIS SOUL PLEASED THE LORD: / THEREFORE HASTED HE TO TAKE HIM AWAY."
