- Description
- Sculpted concrete figure of blindfolded soldier with target hung around his neck. Figure is modeled on Private Herbert Burden who was shot at dawn aged seventeen. 307 wooden stakes are arranged in a semi-circle behind the statue, each bearing a small plaque with the name and service details of those shot at dawn during WW1. The memorial is set within a secluded stand of trees. Benches with individual dedicatory plaques are arranged around the perimeter of the memorial.
