Description
TWO TABLETS LISTING NAMES IN RAISED LETTERING. PEDIMENT WITH RAISED DESIGN OF RAF BADGE AT THE TOP, BENEATH THIS CROSSED UNION FLAGS WITH A CROSS IN THE CENTRE. LEAF DESIGN TO EITHER SIDE. PEDIMENT AND PANELS ARE NOW SEPARATE. THE PANELS WERE ORIGINALLY FLANKED BY TWO FIGURES OF SERVICEMEN. THE CURRENT LOCATION OF THESE IS UNKNOWN.

2010: Report received that the remaining names tablets and pediment have been discarded as a repair was deemed uneconomical. 2006: Memorial in pieces. Flanking figures are missing. 2006: MEMORIAL DAMAGED (PEDIMENT AND ONE PANEL CRACKED). MOVED TO TYRE REPAIR SHOP ADJACENT TO CLUB 2005: CLUB WAS DISBANDED AND SITE SOLD IN DEC 2004. RESITING CURRENTLY BEING CONSIDERED PERHAPS AT WEASTE CEMETERY. ALL PIECES OF ORIGINAL MEMORIAL STILL BELIEVED TO BE IN EXISTENCE INCLUDING FLANKING STATUES OF SOLDIER AND SAILOR. 2000: TABLET IN FOUR PIECES AND PARTIALLY BURIED IN CAR PARK AT LANCASTER CLUB
