Description
Lych gate opening onto a small paved area at the centre of which is a free standing memorial. The memorial is formed of a two stepped base surmounted by plinth and capped column. At the four corners of the base are cast bronze dolphins. A bronze figure of the Madonna is placed against one side of the column. The dedicatory inscription is placed on plaques within the lych gate and the names are inscribed on the memorial. Bronze lion head is placed on each of the post that have been placed around the edge of the paved area. A bronze panel is on each face of the column. Two of the plaques depict an anchor within a wreath, one depicts a Viking ship and one depicts a medieval ship.
