SQUADRON/ COMMANDER/ EDWIN DUNNING/ DSC RNAS/ JULY 1982 AUGUST 1917/ ON 2ND AUGUST 1917 LT. DUNNING/ TOOK OFF FROM RNAS FLYING FIELD/ AT SMOOGRO TO MAKE THE FIRST EVER/ LANDING ON THE DECK OF A SHIP AT SEA./ DUNNING MADE A SECOND SUCCESSFUL/ TOUCHDOWN ON THE FOREDECK OF/ H.M.S.
