Description
Described as being in the Scots Baronial style. Three stepped base surmounted by a castellated plinth with a life sized carved figure of a soldier from the Cameronians (Scottish Highlanders) placed to the front of one side of the plinth. The soldier stands in mourning pose with rifle reversed. Rising from the plinth is a perpendicular column surmounted by a Scottish heraldic lion. Inscription placed on the other three sides of the plinth. Whole is enclosed within iron railings. Lanarkshire county Coat of Arms is carved on the front face of the plinth above the figure of the soldier.
