- Wall-mounted bronze plaque. Embossed lettering. Relief of soldier on left side of plaque in contemporary uniform holding flag aloft. Enameled flags and regimental badges at top of inscription.

- IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR/ BRAVE OLD SCHOOLFELLOW/ WALTER RICE OLIVEY/ BORN SYDNEY N.S. WALES MARCH 19TH 1860/ HE WAS A BOY AT BURY GRAMMAR SCHOOL FROM 1873/ TO 1878 WHEN HE JOINED THE R.M. COLLEGE AT SANDHURST./ ON JAN. 13TH 1880 HE WAS MADE 2ND LIEUT IN THE 66TH/ REGIMENT AND EMBARKED FOR INDIA MARCH 10TH./ AT MAIWAND JULY 27TH, WHILE CARRYING THE COLOURS/ HE WAS WOUNDED AND SURROUNDED BY THE ENEMY/ BUT HE STILL KEPT THE FLAG FLYING AND WITH HIS/ COLONEL , FIVE CAPTAINS AND MANY OTHER OFFICERS/ FELL AT HIS POST - FIGHTING TO THE LAST/ "FRATER AVE ATQUE VALE"
