- Description
- Wooden board consisting of three panels of polished oak with rounded trefoil heads and incised inscriptions. The board is surmounted by a rectangular pediment and flanked by rectangular pilasters with foliate decoration carved in relief. Below the board is a rectangular apron. The whole memorial stands on two feet. On the reverse of the central panel (visible at the back of the memorial) is another panel with rounded trefoil head and incised inscription.

- 2009: Memorial removed from original location and moved via Bolton Museum, to Bolton town hall. Post-WW2: Rather than commission a second memorial for the fallen of WW2, the central board of this memorial was turned around and a new inscription was engraved on it.

Details: The memorial names 37 members who died in the Great War and was later updated to honour nine members lost in the Second World War. This was done by turning round the central board and carvinga new inscription. It states taht 386 Bolton Co-op members rerurned from active service in the Great War. - Responsibility
