M. 6TH REGIMENT OF FOOT,/ WHO DIED AT/ POONAH, EAST INDIES;/ THE 15TH OF DECR 1832,/ AGED 21 YEARS./ O GOD!/ WHO IN THE DISPENSATIONS OF THY/ PROVIDENCE HAST THOUGHT FIT TO CUT DOWN HIS YOUNG LIFE IN IMMATURITY, GRANT THAT/ WHILE WE HIS AFFLICTED MOTHER & FRIENDS/ LAMENT HIS UNTIMELY END, WE MAY NOT SORROW/ AS THOSE WHO HAVE NO HOPE, BUT MAY BELIEVE/ THAT AS JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN, EVEN SO/ THEM ALSO WHICH SLEEP IN JESUS WILL GOD/ BRING WITH HIM, _ AND IN COMFORT ONE ANOTHER/ WITH THESE WORDS.
