White marble tablet , resting on lions feet , at top an unbroken pediment with deeply carved flowers and a scythe , lettering incised and coloured black
Inscription
Here are deposited the Remains of /WILLOUGHBY VERE BERTIE/He was born 20th April 1811: and died 26th July 1812/His father the Honorable WILLOUGHBY BERTIE . Capt RN/had perished in the SATELLITE which he commanded/off Cherbourg.19th December 1810: aged 23 years/CATHERINE his disconsolate mother /inscribes this marble to the memory of/her beloved husband and only child/
