- Description
- Simple cruciform shape, at top of the upright a short strip of soft metal fixed with two nails . on the crosspiece three soft metal strips of varying lengths each fixed with two nails . These strips are commonly encountered on battlefield crosses but typically record "IWGC" and the name , service number , unit and date of death . In this case all four strips appear to have been flattened so no information is visible . At bottom a small modern cross and artificial poppies and the commemorative wooden tablet . The cross appears to be supported by a metal rod , possibly a security device as one cross from this location was reported stolen in 2015
