TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN AFFECTIONATE MEMORY OF HERBERT THOMAS DE CARTERET HOBBS/ MAJOR PRINCE OF WALES OWN WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION AT/ HONING SPRUIT, SOUTH AFRICA ON 22ND JUNE 1900 IN THE GREAT BRIATINA NAD BOEER WAR 1899 - 1902/ AFTER HAVING BEEN OBVER SIX MONTHS A PRISONER IN THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY.
