- Description
- The east wing of the building (which was added as an extension to the existing Cottage Hospital, as the town's first war memorial), with an inscribed lintel above the entrance. When the memorial wing was opened in 1921, it comprised the entrance hall and waiting room, a ground-floor four-bed women's ward (named "Ingle" Ward), and a first-floor men's ward (named the "Peace Memorial Ward"); adjoining each ward was a small room for the attending nurses' use.

- After the east wing extension was opened, the building continued as a hospital until its closure in 1983. Since 1985 it has been used as a day centre for the elderly, and later became the Butterfield Day Care Centre.
- Costs
Comments: The cost of the memorial wing was funded by a combination of a legacy of £l,000 from the estate of the late Mr. Frederick. Ingle, of Colsterworth; legacies under the wills of the late Mr. Arthur Saul and of the late Mr. T. M. Baxter; a grant of £l,000 from the surplus Red Cross Funds, and £700 raised by collections.
