Plaque: 1914 1918/ THIS PARK/ IS DEDICATED TO THE MEN OF/ THE BOROUGH OF GRANTHAM/ WHO IN THEIR COUNTRY'S/ HOUR OF NEED/ WENT FORTH/ ENDURED HARDNESS/ FACED DANGER/ AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF THE/ SIGHT OF MEN/ BY THE PATH OF DUTY AND SELF SACRIFICE AND/ THE GATE OF DEATH./ LET ALL WHO COME AFTER/ SEE TO IT/ THAT WHAT THEY STROVE FOR/ PERISH NOT/ AND THAT THESE GROUNDS FOR/ OUR ENJOYMENT BE PRESERVED/ TO THEIR UNDYING MEMORY Plaque, additional: THIS PLAQUE WAS REMOVED FROM WYNDHAM PARK AND RESTORED BY THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION WITH THE HELP OF LOCAL PEOPLE.
